Basically ios is a truncated way of saying iPhone Operating system, ios is the mobile operating system that runs on apple mobile devices / cellular phones / ipads /etc

It is the main software that allows you to interact with your Apple phone or tablet

IOS is the first thing you see when you powerup your device, in the form of your phone or tablet lock screen & desktop which are filledwith shortcut to your favourite Apps

When you headinto your iPhone or iPads settings Menu, thats also controlle by the OS

What is our version of IOS?

Apple is constantly updating IOS, to add new features to your phone or tablet or simply improve the experience by tweaking existing Apps & sqvashing any bugs each update is lebelled with a new number.

Differencee between IOS - ANDROID:-

Android is another mobile operating system just like ios but Android was designate by google & it run unpopular rival phone to the iPhone such as Samsung, Galaxy, Sony, Moto, Nexus X5, etc

IOS is the closed system, compare with the open source Android in other words you can't install any software (Apps) on your iPhone or IPad that hasn't been approved by Apple personally converiely Android users can download and install apps from unknown sources, in the form of APK file.

These haven't been approve by Google & therefore could contain virus.

It works by communicating with a nearby base station [call a cell site] which connects it to the main phone network.

Whenmoving , ifthe mobile phone gets toofar away from the cell.

It is connect to that cell sends a message to another cell to tell the new call to takeover the call

This is call hand-off & the call continous with the new cell the phone is connect to that cell site

The hand-off is done so well & carefully that the user will usually never even know that the call was transfer to another call.

As mobile phone become more popular they began to cost less money & more people could afford them.

Monthly plans become available for rates as low as US$30 or US$40 a month .

The mordern form of mobile phone is call smart phone . It has become more popular

The majority of mobile phones made- 2010 are smart phones , thy can be use as computers aswellas making voice calls
